Platinum is the premium currency in the game, and it allows you to purchase various items, cosmetics, and convenience features. Whether you’re a new Tenno or a seasoned player, understanding how to earn and use Platinum is essential.

1. What is Platinum?

Platinum is the premium currency of Warframe, and it can be used for various purposes, including buying Warframes, weapons, cosmetics, slots, and other in-game items.

2. Earning Platinum

While you can purchase Platinum with real money, there are ways to earn it in-game without spending a dime. Here are some methods:

Trading

Player-to-player trading is the primary way to earn Platinum. You can trade various items with other players in the Trading Post (accessible from your Orbiter). Here's what you can trade:

1. Prime parts: Farm Prime parts from Void Relics and sell them to other players.
2. Mods: Sell rare or valuable mods (such as Corrupted mods) to interested buyers.
3. Syndicate Augments: Syndicates offer augment mods that can be traded.
4. Riven Mods: High-quality Riven mods can fetch a good price.
5. Arcanes: Farm Eidolons for Arcanes and sell them.
6. Ayatan Sculptures: Fill Ayatan sculptures with stars and trade them.
7. Special Resources: Some rare resources (i.e. Nitain Extract) can be traded.

Warframe Market

Use external websites like warframe.market to check current prices and find potential buyers. List your items for sale and negotiate with other players.

Login Rewards

Occasionally, you’ll receive Platinum discounts as login rewards. Use these discounts to get more platinum at a cheaper price.

Selling Prime Sets

Farm complete Prime sets (Warframes, weapons, companions) and sell them. Prime sets are always in high demand, and can give you a decent amount of Platinum.

Partake in Events

Occasionally, special alerts or invasions can offer Platinum as a reward, so complete those when they show up for free platinum.

3. Spending Platinum

Use your platinum wisely.

1. Warframe and Weapon Slots: Prioritize buying additional slots, so you can have more weapons and Warframes in your roster.
2. Cosmetics: Customize your Warframes with skins, armor sets, and other cosmetics. In the community, there's a community dedicated to customizing their Warframes, called Fashionframe. This is usually aimed at endgame users, though.
3. Boosters: Purchase resource and affinity boosters.

If you wish to get into trading with other players, these items will all require a trading tax.

1. Prime Sets: As mentioned above, these are always in demand, and for good reason.
2. Riven Mods: Riven mods are unique mods for weapons that are earned through unveiling the mod and completing its challenge. These can be highly sought after, if the rolls are good enough.

4. Be Cautious

Be wary of scams and always double-check trade offers. Avoid trading with suspicious players, or those who violate the game’s rules!
